Student Support Worker

Full-time, term-time, permanent
Required immediately
Salary £21,745 – £24,717 pro rata (equivalent to DCC range SCP 24 – 28)

We currently have a vacancy for a Student Support Worker with a specific focus on behaviour improvement to support the learning of students with additional, special educational or behaviour needs in lessons and in small intervention groups.  Suitable candidates will therefore have previous experience of working with challenging and demotivated children/young people to reengage them in learning.  You must be able to co-ordinate and organise resources effectively and possess the ability to motivate students as well as acting as a positive role model for individuals and groups of students.

Community Centre Manager

Required for September 2017
Temporary post (1 year in first instance)
37 hours per week
Salary £28,119

We are looking to appoint a dynamic individual who will be responsible for the efficient and successful promotion and coordination of community activities at Park View Community Centre.

The role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth and successful day-to-day running of vibrant community provision, providing services and activities for a diverse community, as well as increasing the footfall and usage of the Centre.

The Postholder will be responsible for the support and first line management of a largely part-time staff, ensuring excellent customer service and effective administrative, IT and financial systems are in place. The Postholder will work with the Headteacher of Park View School and the Trustees of PVCC to manage and develop the resources, services and projects of Park View Community Centre, in order to best meet the needs and aspirations of the local community.

Park View Community Centre is at the heart of Chester-le-Street. The Centre offers a wide range of activities for the local community, in addition to providing facilities for courses, private functions and exercise classes. The Centre is also home to CrossFit Chester-le-Street.

The Centre is committed to the safeguarding and promotion of the wellbeing of children and vulnerable adults.  You must therefore be willing to undergo DBS clearance.
