Personal, Social and Health Education is taught through a number of “Edge Days” where students take part in a wide variety of activities. Students learn about how to be good citizens, how to be enterprising through a range of business-related activities; how to be healthy, including topics such as drugs awareness, mental health and sex and relationships education.
We also ensure that every student receives the relevant information, advice and guidance to make the best possible careers decisions beyond school. Go Ahead days also involve a range of enrichment activities offsite during the school day.
Investor in Careers Award – Park View School achieved the Investor in Careers (IiC) award in October 2014 having demonstrated a commitment to provide impartial, independent careers education, information, advice and guidance to all students. IiC is a quality standard for the management of careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) and is now the most widely used quality award of its kind recognised nationally across the country. This is one of the highest accolades an organisation can receive for excellence in this area of work. The IiC standard is about improving students’ awareness of opportunities, raising their aspirations and working with them to ensure they achieve their full potential.
