The transition from GCSE to A levels is a significant one, into student life as a young adult. Parents are acutely aware that this is the launch pad for their children’s lives in the wider world, for success at university and in employment.
At Park View School, we like to provide as much information as possible on what the next step will be like so students and parents can make informed choices
The Sixth Form pastoral team and faculties have put together a programme of activities which aim to develop a young person’s knowledge of future choices, skills development and subject interest. All Year 11 students have been emailed and invited to a Google classroom set up by Mrs Price which week on week aims to build on the areas we feel most benefit students in the sixth form. The school website will be updated next week with subject specific areas which aim to engage students with their future choices, offering different ways to engage with possible subject choices in the future. I would encourage any student considering post-16 education to take this opportunity as it will be invaluable in informing their choices post exam results. I believe any experience that provides information on the next step in a young person’s life will allow them to successfully ‘bridge the gap’ between further education or employment.
