Overview- Outstanding Opportunities, Exceptional Outcomes

Outstanding Opportunities, Exceptional Outcomes

Park View Sixth Form is proud to be recognised by Ofsted as “highly ambitious for all students,” delivering an “exceptional experience” that prepares young people for university, employment and adult life with confidence and integrity. Our long-standing reputation for academic excellence and personal development is built upon a unique blend of innovation, high standards and care.

We believe that post-16 education should be bold, aspirational and inclusive as well as rooted in strong moral values while embracing the best of modern teaching and learning. This vision underpins everything we do.

A Distinctive Sixth Form Experience

Housed in a self-contained, purpose-built centre, Park View Sixth Form offers students a dedicated learning environment that feels more like a college than a school. Here, students enjoy independence, responsibility and access to a wide range of specialist resources, whilst still benefitting from the outstanding facilities on our main school site.

The atmosphere is vibrant and mature. Relationships between staff and students are built on trust, respect and a shared commitment to success. As Ofsted highlighted, “Students behave exceptionally well and are excellent role models for younger pupils.”

Pastoral Care That Makes a Difference

We understand that young adults face enormous pressures in today’s world- academic, social and emotional. That’s why our pastoral system is personal, responsive and built around the individual. Whether navigating stress, decision-making or future plans, students are never alone.

Tutors and Sixth Form leaders know every student well and work closely with families to ensure each young person feels valued, supported and empowered. Our ethos is simple: we care about the whole person, not just their grades.

Academic Excellence & Ambitious Pathways

Our curriculum is broad, challenging and expertly delivered. We offer a wide range of A Level and Level 3 vocational subjects, each taught by specialists with a strong track record of success.

The majority of our students progress to university, many to Russell Group institutions, with others securing high-level apprenticeships or going straight into employment. UCAS preparation starts early, with bespoke support for every application, including Oxbridge and competitive courses like medicine and law.

Our careers programme, praised by Ofsted as “well-structured and of high quality,” also includes external speakers, work experience, and targeted guidance for those exploring apprenticeships or alternative routes.

The Academy of Sport: Excellence Beyond the Classroom

Our award-winning Academy of Sport is an integral part of Sixth Form life- offering elite coaching, competitive opportunities and a strong emphasis on personal development.

Students can combine academic study with specialist training in sports such as football, basketball, and netball. Whether aspiring to play professionally, pursue a sports-related career or simply stay active and engaged, our Academy programme is inclusive, inspiring and rooted in excellence.

As Ofsted recognised, “The quality of provision in the Academy of Sport is excellent, enabling students to excel both academically and athletically.”

A Global Outlook, A Local Heart

Park View Sixth Form is proud to be a diverse, welcoming community. We work closely with local partners, national organisations and international networks to broaden horizons, create meaningful connections and prepare students for life in a global society.

Through student leadership, volunteering, cultural exchanges, and community outreach, we offer opportunities that go far beyond the classroom.
