As the chair of the board, I would like to offer you a warm welcome to the Park View Trust website. I am extremely proud to be part of this growing organisation.
Park View is most definitely centred around people – pupils, staff, parents and trustees and local communities – and their importance remains at the heart of everything we do.
The school has a long, highly successful and distinguished record since establishment on its town centre site in 1911, serving all of Chester-le-Street and neighbouring communities. Since then, it has expanded on to its North Lodge site where all students in Years 7 & 8 are educated – an arrangement universally endorsed by both children and parents as a more ‘gentle introduction’ to the overall secondary school experience. More recently, the school has taken the opportunity to successfully launch an Academy of Sport for 16-19 year olds. The school is now among the largest in Northern England. Additionally, Governors opted to move to single Academy status in 2011.
The core purpose of our Trust is to ensure that our school raises aspirations and achievement, promotes care and celebrates uniqueness.
‘Park View Learning’ seeks to ignite the imaginations of young people, kindle ambition and fuel the creative energy of our community, so that our students achieve excellence and grow into responsible global citizens. We are very keen that pupils of all ages are encouraged to develop abilities and skills that will ultimately make them highly employable. Qualifications alone are not enough. We want to ensure our pupils develop the ability to apply themselves with resilience, to think creatively, to be a team player, to question and reason and to argue rationally. Respect, tolerance and compassion should be central in our school.
On our website you will be able to find news and information concerning what is going on within Park View and, through the links, more detail about what is happening in the different areas of our Trust. You can also find information about our members and trustees.
I do hope that you find what you need. Please do get in touch if you have any further questions or feedback about the work of Park View Trust.
