After working within the Chester-le-Street family of schools for nearly 20 years I have formed very strong links with Park View Academy. In my role as Headteacher of Woodlea I have tried to strengthen these links because I believe that we can provide better educational opportunities when we work together.
As a Trustee of Park View I hope I’m able the offer my experience to support the continued growth and development of the town’s young people.
Mr Mustafaa Malik – Community Trustee
Appointed on 12/12/2020, Term of Office end: 12/12/24
Appointed by Trustees
I am a parent Trustee whose eldest child has started her secondary school education at Park View. Since 2006, I have worked as a primary school Head Teacher within Gateshead. Through this post, I have had the opportunity of working with many schools, both primary and secondary, with the aim of increasing opportunity and raising standards across the authority rather than my own school alone. As a Trustee of Park View, I wish to work with the school to develop practice so that there is continued success in supporting all students to achieve.

Special Interest Governor : Behaviour / Attitude / PD
I am delighted to be taking on the role of Parent Trustee at Park View and look forward to both the successes and challenges ahead. My two daughters attend the school and both are thriving, enjoying the education and experiences on offer. I am supportive of the work, vision and ethos of Park View and look forward to making my contribution through the Board of Trustees.
I have been a primary school teacher for 24 years. In 2000, I moved to the Chester-le Street area and took a post at Woodlea Primary School where I have worked for almost 20 years. I have therefore seen lots of former pupils move to Park View and very much enjoy catching up with them when I am there and hearing of their successes. At Woodlea, I am responsible for leading the School Council, working on projects that encourage the children to be active citizens, both in school and the wider community. As a parent and teacher I believe that mental health should be a priority in schools and am currently supporting the Young Minds campaign, ‘Wise Up To Wellbeing In Schools’. When time allows, I love to visit the theatre and go to concerts and every other Saturday I can be found cheering on SAFC at the Stadium of light!
