History

History Department Vision and Intent

The History curriculum at Park View allows pupils to;

  • Gain a deep chronological understanding of British history from pre-1066 to the present day.
  • Have the confidence to form strong arguments and make sustained judgements which demonstrate secure historical knowledge. 
  • Be critical of information they are exposed to through their rigorous analysis of sources and interpretations.
  • Develop their understanding of historical concepts including cause and consequence, significance, similarities and differences and change and continuity. 
  • Want to explore, remember and question events that have shaped the world they live in. 
  • Demonstrate resilience and instil a work ethic through high levels of productivity which will prepare them for post-16 study or their chosen career.
