Maths Faculty Vision and Intent
We want to develop mathematicians who enjoy being challenged and relish the opportunity to be stretched beyond the limits of their current knowledge and understanding.
We will achieve our vision by tailoring our lessons and units of work to ensure that they:
- Allow students to become fluent in the fundamentals of mathematics. Pupils will develop a connected web of deep, conceptual understanding and be able to recall facts rapidly and accurately.
- Allow students the opportunity to become concise and accurate when reasoning mathematically.
- Allow students to develop the skills to solve problems by applying their mathematical knowledge to a wide range of seen and unseen problems.
